Measure on level ground
Warm the engine to at least 80°C/175°F. With it idling, remove the dipstick, wipe with lint-free material, fully reinsert, then remove and read the cross-hatched area. Reinsert fully and shut the engine off.

Act on the reading
If below the cross-hatched area, the manual specifies adding 1 L/1 qt of the recommended oil through the oil-tank fill opening, then rechecking. Use the manual’s oil specification; do not overfill. If above range, have excess removed. Fully seat dipstick and cap.
