Check at refueling stops. Park on level ground, turn the engine off and wait approximately three minutes before measuring.

Read the dipstick
Remove the orange dipstick, wipe it with a clean cloth, fully reinsert it, then withdraw it again. The level should lie between its lower and upper marks.

Respond to the reading
If near or below the lower mark, add the specified engine oil slowly without overfilling. A reading above the upper mark can occur under some driving conditions; consult a dealer if concerned. Record repeated unusual readings rather than assuming a larger fill quantity is the answer.
