Stop promptly
Park on level ground in a safe location immediately. Use hazard lights when needed. Low oil pressure can damage the engine almost immediately.

Stop the engine and wait approximately three minutes. Check the dipstick and add the correct oil if necessary.

Apply the manual stopping rule
Start the engine and watch the warning. If it does not disappear within ten seconds, immediately stop the engine and contact a dealer for repairs. If it disappears, the manual permits driving again. Record the event for follow-up; this procedure does not identify the cause of pressure loss.
