Use the camera’s formatting workflow
While parked, power the camera normally and connect the BlackVue app directly to it. Choose Format microSD card and confirm only after checking your backup. Let the operation finish without interrupting power. Menu presentation can change with the app; use the linked manual’s illustrated menu if your layout differs.

Know the physical-button alternative
On these Plus models, hold Format for five seconds, release after the beep, then hold it again for five seconds and release after the next beep. This is the deliberate two-stage formatting command. It is not a Wi-Fi toggle. The B/W/L indicator is a light, not a button; use the app’s pairing workflow for connection issues.
If you use a computer
BlackVue Viewer provides a computer-based alternative. Verify the selected drive before erasing it. Follow the linked Windows or macOS instructions for this model, including the prescribed filesystem.

Inspect the result before relying on the camera
After recording resumes, play a newly captured front clip and, on 2CH, a rear clip. Check that the time is sensible and both channels are present. Note the card model, capacity, service date and any error message. BlackVue recommends monthly formatting for this series. Recurring errors after a supported format need card or camera diagnosis; repeatedly erasing the card can hide the history without fixing the problem.
