Remove the sound-generator path
Remove the original inlet hose and sound-generator tubing as far as the chassis-mounted fitting. Keep the plastic crankcase elbow attached to its hose. Place the supplied cap over the chassis fitting; the instructions do not require a clamp there.

Fit and reconnect
Install the replacement between throttle body and intake, leaving clamps loose. Move the original pinch clamp to the new crankcase spigot. Insert the original elbow and secure it with that clamp. If the reinforced hose becomes distorted, restore its shape by hand.

Check belt clearance
Adjust the hose to provide at least 1/2 inch from the serpentine belt, then tighten its clamps. Start the engine and check normal operation before the test drive. If it fails to start or runs abnormally, investigate vacuum leaks.
