Assemble off the engine
Pull the original plastic cover straight upward. Using the official photograph to identify orientation, assemble the three mounting nipples on the underside of the replacement with the supplied hardware. The instruction sheet specifies approximately 6 ft-lb for each.

Seat the cover
Line up all three nipples with the engine’s rubber grommets before pressing down. Press until every mounting point is fully seated. This is a three-point engagement check; a corner that remains raised warrants rechecking alignment.
