Removable CTS Turbo reusable dry-element intake filter; not an oiled filter or a vehicle-specific airbox removal procedure.
Tools
  • Bucket
  • Water
Parts / supplies
  • Small quantity of suitable soap
STEP 01

Soak gently

With the filter removed by its intake-specific instructions, place it in water with a small amount of suitable soap. CTS suggests an alkaline soap such as Dawn. Soak for five to ten minutes, then move it gently in the bucket to release debris.

STEP 02

Rinse without pressure

Remove larger trapped debris carefully and rinse away all detergent with water. Do not use a pressure washer or the jet setting of a hose nozzle.

STEP 03

Allow complete air drying

Shake out excess water and leave the element to air-dry completely before refitting. Do not use compressed air; excess pressure can damage the mesh. CTS notes that wavy pleats after washing can be normal. If using a dedicated dry-filter cleaning kit instead, follow that kit’s instructions.
