Understand the product’s role

Injen describes the Hydroshield as a hydrophobic cover for compatible air filters. Water repellency does not turn an exposed intake into a sealed system or make driving through standing water safe.

Match the filter dimensions

Choose the cover specified for the actual filter rather than relying only on the intake kit’s vehicle name. Check seating and clearance so the cover is secure and does not interfere with nearby components. Follow the filter and cover care instructions separately.

Keep realistic expectations

Assess the intake’s location and exposure to road spray before installing it. If the filter is wet or the engine behaves abnormally after water exposure, stop and investigate rather than assuming the cover prevented ingestion. PHTM has not independently measured filtration or power changes from this accessory.
