Work one wire at a time
For engines that use a separate ignition-wire set, NGK recommends replacing wires individually and following their identification numbers. This reduces the chance of mixing connections. It does not apply to a coil-on-plug engine that has no such wire set.

Use the original route
Reuse the intended retainers and routing so wires remain clear of heat and moving components. Seat each boot firmly on the correct terminal. Do not choose a shorter-looking route that leaves a wire stretched or touching the exhaust.

Handle the boot, not the cable
Pull on the boot when removing a wire, not on the wire itself. Confirm all connections before starting and investigate any new misfire immediately. Use the engine’s wiring diagram and the exact set’s instructions if the old routing or numbering has already been lost.
