OBDLink: review emissions readiness without clearing codes

Choose an applicable readiness profile and review the vehicle’s existing monitor results.

GUIDE OVERVIEW

Difficulty
Introductory · 1/5
Time
Allow 10–20 minutes; editorial planning estimate
Vehicle / platform
Current OBDLink app and compatible US OBD-II vehicle; app readiness display is not an inspection certificate.
Tools
  • Phone with OBDLink app
Parts / supplies
  • Compatible OBDLink adapter
STEP 01

Connect and open Monitors

Start the vehicle as OBDLink directs, connect the app to the adapter and stop other Bluetooth streaming. Confirm Connected on Home, then open Monitors. The I/M Readiness tab needs a live vehicle connection to show results.

STEP 02

Choose the applicable profile

Open the three-dot menu and select Readiness Standard. Choose the listed state and model-year group, then OK. The default is None; some states have no entry. Do not select a different state merely to produce a favorable display.

STEP 03

Read the complete list

Scroll through all monitor results and record their status. If the vehicle needs further diagnosis, retain that record with its date and mileage. Confirm current inspection requirements through the relevant authority; the app’s selected profile and the vehicle’s actual readiness are separate facts.
