STEP 01

Prepare the parked vehicle

Park on a flat surface, engage the parking brake and switch off the headlights. BMW requires a relatively cool engine and a sufficiently charged battery. Do not assume a downloaded file means all vehicle prerequisites are satisfied.

Confirm the installation

When ready, the vehicle offers Perform upgrade now after engine shutdown. OS8/8.5/9 provides on-screen confirmation and may allow scheduling. Read the update information and follow the displayed prompts.
