Documented value
BMW F30 · 328i
FCP Euro’s N20/N26 F30 ignition procedure specifies 23 Nm (approximately 17 lb-ft) for the plugs used in that job. Confirm the exact replacement plug and current application instructions before applying it. This is not an N55, B58 or aftermarket racing-plug specification.
Thread condition matters
NGK specifies dry installation for its plated plugs. Anti-seize changes friction and can make a nominal torque inappropriate. Do not add lubricant and then assume the dry-thread value still produces the intended installation.
Before applying torque
Start the correct plug by hand, verify that it is seating normally and use the appropriate socket and calibrated tool. Stop if it binds before seating. Do not use tightening torque to overcome damaged threads.
Do not reuse this number elsewhere
Coil fasteners, cowl hardware and strut-brace bolts have different requirements. In particular, a torque-plus-angle instruction cannot be reduced to its first torque number. Follow the full access/reassembly procedure and replacement-fastener requirements.
