A family, not one shape

Super 40 is a chambered muffler family with multiple inlet and outlet layouts and dimensions. A listing for an offset inlet and outlet is not interchangeable with a center or dual-outlet version merely because both say Super 40.

Measure the installation envelope

Record pipe diameter, case length, overall length, inlet/outlet position and available clearance. Include space for joints, hangers and thermal movement. Ask the exhaust fabricator to confirm the layout before ordering.

Budget for fabrication

A universal muffler can require cutting, welding and hanger work. Compare the complete installed price with an application-specific system. Holley’s aggressive-sound description is manufacturer positioning; the vehicle’s engine, pipework and resonators determine the actual cabin experience.
