Identify the problem

A restoration kit targets cloudy or yellowed exterior plastic. Internal condensation, a cracked housing or a failed light source needs a different repair. Clean the lamp and inspect where the haze sits before buying abrasives.

Protect surrounding surfaces

Use the masking and abrasive sequence supplied with the exact kit. Different 3M kits use different steps and tools. Do not skip straight to a coarse disc or transfer drill speed and technique from another product.

Restore the protection too

Follow the kit’s final protective treatment and cure directions. Sanding away surface degradation without the specified finishing protection can leave an incomplete job. Check beam performance and lamp condition afterward; cosmetic clarity does not establish correct aim or electrical function.
