Understand what changes
The kit combines an aluminum intake tube with a heat shield and edge trim, retaining the vehicle’s airflow sensor. Its filter maintenance interval depends on conditions; AEM advertises up to 100,000 miles between cleaning, with more frequent attention in dusty use. Treat that as a conditional ceiling, not permission to ignore an obviously dirty element. The product lists five clamps and one coupler; inventory against the illustrated installation sheet, which identifies the individual hose adapters and hardware.

Remove the factory assembly
Save electronic settings; ignition off, disconnect battery negative. Remove five radiator-cover clips and cover, then two duct bolts and duct. Unplug/unclip MAF wiring. Loosen intake clamps, unhook vent lines, remove tube; lift airbox from grommets.

Assemble and seat the shield
Install shield studs and filter adapter. Cut top trim to 21½, 16 and 14 inches; fit it and side trim as illustrated. Fit filter and 5-352 adapter hose. Seat shield studs in factory grommets. Attach 5-326 throttle coupler. Restore duct and cover.

Transfer sensor and reconnect
Transfer MAF with supplied screws. Hand-thread plastic NPT fitting, then tighten two turns with a wrench. Fit tube between couplers and adjust before tightening. Reconnect crankcase vent, brake-booster line support, vacuum line and MAF connector.

Inspect before driving
Check component and hood clearance, tighten all disturbed fasteners/clamps and remove tools. Reconnect battery; idle three minutes and inspect before driving.

Record a baseline and retain the original parts
Take photographs showing the finished tube, each hose connection and the sensor harness. Keep the stock airbox, duct hardware and removed tube labeled together. After the final inspection, record the kit number, installation mileage and filter part number in your service notes. If a warning or poor running appears after the work, use that record to review what was disturbed; do not assume a reset is the repair. AEM’s supplied drawings remain the reference for trim orientation and hose-support placement.
