Remove intake
Save settings; ignition off, disconnect negative. Remove engine, radiator and accessory covers, then fresh-air duct. Unplug/unclip MAF, detach CCV hose, release intake clamp and airbox clips. Remove upper assembly. Unbolt/lift lower box, rotate to release hidden harness clip, then remove.

Mount shield
Fit edge trims and bracket 010033. Install shield over rubber then steel washer at original mount. At passenger shock-tower ground mounting point, secure shield bracket with supplied spacer/hardware, keeping ground beneath spacer.

Transfer and connect
Transfer CCV chamber via supplied small hose/clamps and MAF with supplied screws. Fit tube bracket 070992. Remove front passenger valve-cover bolt; loosely refit through tube bracket after fitting throttle coupler/tube. Reconnect CCV/MAF; fit filter. Restore duct and tighten hardware. Refit covers and battery negative.

Verify clearance/fasteners. Start in Park/Neutral, parking brake applied; correct leaks/noises before road test. Investigate rattles; periodically recheck alignment.

Review the hidden work
On the final pass, compare your hardware inventory and before/after photographs. Account for the harness clip released underneath the old box and the connections transferred to the new assembly. If the installed part number or bracket shape differs from the illustrated kit, ask K&N to identify the revision before modifying the vehicle. Keep the original intake intact and label its parts for a later return to stock.
