Watch the effective length
An inline crowfoot can extend the distance between the fastener and the wrench handle, changing the applied torque for a given setting. Do not automatically use the uncorrected value with an offset adapter.

Use the documented arrangement
TEKTON describes positioning the crowfoot at 90 degrees to the wrench to avoid the inline length change. For another angle or arrangement, use the tool manufacturer’s correction method and measurements. Keep the intended angle while applying force.

Confirm what the specification means
Read the vehicle procedure for any required special tool and whether its torque figure already accounts for that tool. Applying a second correction to an already adjusted value can introduce a new error. Never substitute a guessed correction because access is awkward.
