Normal loop recording

The camera normally begins video recording at power-on and continues until power-off. When the memory card fills, it removes the oldest unsaved video to make room. An unsaved file therefore should not be treated as a permanent archive.

Prompt deletion changes the result

With prompt deletion enabled, the camera continually deletes unsaved material more than three minutes old and deletes all unsaved video when powered off. Even a large card cannot preserve that unsaved history under this setting.

STEP 01

Choose the intended behavior

Review the option in the camera settings and select the retention behavior you want. Save important recordings promptly to protect them against routine overwrite or deletion, then check that the saved clip can be viewed. Changing the setting does not recover material already removed.
