What Excel-G is intended to do

KYB describes Excel-G as a gas-charged twin-tube replacement designed to restore original handling and control. Treat that as the product brief, not evidence that replacing healthy dampers automatically improves the car. Worn bushings, loose mounts and incorrect tires can remain a problem after new shocks are fitted.

Match the exact application

Use the current catalog for body style, drivetrain and suspension options. Check left/right and front/rear part assignments. A family name on a retailer page is not sufficient to establish that a particular strut fits your car.

Compare the whole job

Ask whether the quote covers bare dampers or complete assemblies, which mounts and isolators will be reused, and what inspection supports that decision. Include alignment where the service procedure requires it. Replacing one visibly failed component may reveal wear elsewhere, so budget for diagnosis as well as parts.

Judge the result fairly

Use the same tire pressures and a familiar route after installation. New noises, pulling or a crooked steering wheel need an installation/alignment check. Do not dismiss those symptoms as normal settling or automatically blame the damper brand.
