Read the alignment marks
Some MOOG press-in ball joints have an elliptical opening and must be oriented correctly in the arm. The supplied marks and tags are installation instructions, not packaging decoration. This requirement does not apply identically to every ball joint.

Prepare the press operation
Confirm the exact part, receiving bore and installation instructions before applying force. Support the component with the appropriate press adapters and align the joint as directed. A joint pressed crooked or in the wrong direction needs assessment, not simply more force.

Complete the surrounding checks
Inspect the arm and bore for damage, fit retention hardware correctly and use the specified fasteners and tightening procedure. Steering and suspension joints are safety-critical. Have a qualified technician perform the work if the required press setup or orientation is uncertain.
