STEP 01

Compare more than the center

Park safely and inspect the visible tread across its width. Compare inner and outer shoulders with the center and compare wheel positions. Use professional inspection for areas you cannot see safely; do not crawl under an unsupported vehicle.

Sources 1

STEP 02

Check the pressure history

Measure cold pressure against the vehicle’s own recommendation. One correct reading today does not prove that the tire has always been correctly inflated.

Sources 1

STEP 03

Inspect before adjusting

Have a technician check alignment and relevant mechanical condition. Do not conclude that a damper or control arm has failed from wear alone. Replacing the tire addresses the worn surface, not necessarily the cause.
