The documented quantities
Mazda lists approximately 4.5 liters, or 4.8 US quarts, for the SKYACTIV-G 2.5 with an oil-filter replacement. Without replacing the filter, its reference figure is 4.3 liters, or 4.5 US quarts. These figures are for the documented 2020 configuration.

Use capacity as a starting reference
The manual labels the quantities approximate and directs owners to check actual levels. Do not force the entire reference quantity into an engine that already reads full. Drain conditions and remaining oil make the dipstick check important.

Do not transfer the number
The same manual lists different values for the 2.0-liter engine. Later turbo engines and other Mazda models require their own documentation. Confirm the engine before purchasing oil, and follow the linked oil-level guide for the correct reading conditions.
