Start with the vehicle

Mobil recommends following the vehicle’s oil and filter change frequencies, particularly during warranty. A premium synthetic product is not permission to reset the schedule around the largest mileage figure on a bottle. Time limits and severe-use instructions still matter.

Choose the right product first

Match viscosity and the required approvals to the exact engine and market. The Mobil 1 name covers multiple formulations; two containers with the same viscosity can carry different approvals. Check the current label and product data.

Keep a useful record

Record mileage, date, oil product, quantity used and filter part number. Continue checking oil level between services using the vehicle procedure. An interval assumes the engine has adequate oil; it does not protect a car driven below the correct level.
