Check the rotor design
A drilled hole pattern is not a reliable universal guide to left and right installation. Brembo explains that its Xtra discs do not require a direction based on that pattern. Other rotor designs can have directional requirements.

Use the actual identification
Read the part numbers, packaging and any left/right or rotation markings. Inspect the instructions for the internal ventilation design rather than copying the appearance of a different brake kit. Do not assume a slotted racing rotor and an OE replacement use the same rule.

Verify before assembly
Compare both supplied discs with the catalog application and original dimensions. Resolve conflicting markings with the supplier before fitting pads and wheels. Correct direction is only one check: cleanliness, mounting-face condition, runout and the specified tightening procedure still matter.
