Count the hardware too
Available cargo weight is constrained by the vehicle roof, rack and box limits. Subtract the rack and empty box weight from the vehicle’s permitted roof load, then respect any lower rack or box cargo limit. The advertised box capacity is not automatically your usable allowance.

Use the driving limit
Dynamic load applies while driving. A higher static figure for a parked vehicle cannot justify carrying extra weight on the road. Keep heavier items appropriately secured and follow the box’s loading distribution instructions.

Measure the finished setup
Check total vehicle height, garage clearance and hatch opening before the trip. Secure the contents and confirm every mounting clamp and lock as instructed. Added roof cargo changes the vehicle’s behavior, especially in wind; the box’s maximum permitted speed is a limit, not a recommendation for poor conditions.
