Clearance is only one requirement

A hitch extension changes the position of the rack and its leverage on the receiver. Choose an extension specifically approved for the rack and hitch combination; matching square tube dimensions alone is insufficient.

Check the complete load

Include the rack and cargo when reviewing receiver and accessory limits. Read the current StraightShot compatibility list and instructions for your exact rack version. Do not transfer an approval from a similarly named older or newer product.

Inspect the vehicle interaction

Check bumper and spare-tire clearance, rack movement and loaded ground clearance. Use the specified retention hardware. If the extension is not approved for the combination, select a compatible carrying arrangement rather than stacking adapters until the rack fits.
