Describe the behavior
Record whether there is one click, repeated clicking or slow rotation. Note whether lights dim and whether the problem changes hot versus cold. Keep the vehicle securely parked; do not bypass the starter circuit or work beneath an unsupported car.

Check the supply path
DENSO identifies battery condition and connection resistance as important starter-circuit checks. A qualified test should assess the battery under load and the power and ground paths before condemning the starter. Resting voltage alone is not a complete performance test.

Avoid repeated attempts
Long repeated cranking can overheat components and deplete the battery. Follow the vehicle’s limits and arrange diagnosis when the cause is unclear. Bring the symptom record and any recent battery or electrical-work history.
