Move the arms before lifting
Switch the ignition on and then off. Within 30 seconds of switching it off, press the wiper switch upward twice; the wipers stop in their service positions. Do not drag the arms across the glass by hand.

Protect the windshield
Raise the arms carefully and use the blade-release tab shown in Mazda’s illustrated instructions. Do not let an unprotected arm snap onto the glass. If replacing only the rubber insert, follow the holder-groove sequence and verify that the insert is fully retained.

Return to the parked position
Lower both arms gently onto the windshield first. Switch the ignition on and press the wiper switch upward once to return them to their initial positions. Test with washer fluid and confirm that both blades are secure and wipe correctly before driving in rain.
