Bedding comes after a correct installation

Bedding establishes the working relationship between new friction surfaces. It does not fix a fluid leak, loose caliper, contaminated pad or incorrectly assembled brake. Confirm the pedal, fluid level, fasteners and wheel installation before considering any driving procedure. If the pedal is abnormal, stop and have the system checked.

Identify the exact instructions

PowerStop publishes a break-in procedure for its pads and rotors. Read the instructions for the installed product, including coated-rotor notes. Do not merge its sequence with an EBC, Hawk or racing-pad routine. Friction formulations and surface treatments can differ.

Choose the location before beginning

The procedure requires changes in speed and a cooling stage. Arrange a safe, lawful place with sufficient space and no following traffic; use a professional installer if that is not available. Do not improvise repeated hard stops on a crowded public road.

Evaluate afterward

After cooling, check for abnormal noise, pulling, fluid loss or a changing pedal. Document the installation and bedding process. Persistent vibration or scraping deserves inspection; repeating the procedure indefinitely can conceal an installation problem rather than cure it.
